• March    - FUT is established as a limited liability company

• October - The first Western Union Money Transfer Transaction is proccessed in Albania.

• September - FUT offers the service of Western Union Money Transfer Payment Services outside Tirana, through the agency in the city of Korça.

• August - FUT signs with Western Union Financial Services Inc. the representative agreement for Macedonia.
  
  
• October– FUT receives the license to operate as a non-bank financial institution.

• April - FUT opens a branch in Kosovo, and signs the representative agreement with Western Union Financial Services Inc. for  Kosovo.

• January – FUT organizes the first National Agent’s Conference in Albania

• March- FUT and Western Union Financial Services Inc. obtain the status of the Official Sponsor of the Albanian National Soccer team

• February- FUT organizes the second National Agent’s Conference in Albania.

• June- FUT sponsors broadcasting of World Cup 2002 in Albania and Kosovo.

• January - FUT Prishtina branch becomes an  independent legal subject (FUP)

• February – USD is commenced with EURO as a base currency for Western Union Money Transfer Payment Services.

• September - Christina Gold, President of Western Union Financial Services Inc. visit Albania.

• UFC in Switzerland is founded (Union of Financial Corners s.a.) and the representative agreement with Western Union Financial Services Inc. for the Money Transfer Service is signed.

• Union Bank is established receiving its final license on December 2005.

• October: FUT celebrate its 10th anniversary in Albania

Presently, FUT permanently provides Western Union® Money TransferSM services in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. FUT provides Western Union® Money TransferSM services through a wide agent network. There are more then 191 Agent Locations in Albania and more then 91  Agent Locations in Kosovo and more then 35 Agent Locations in Macedonia

• Western Union refurbish the agreement with Albanian Football Federation, for the sponsorship of the Albanian National Football Team for two more years, 2006-2008

• Financial Union Tirana  co-operate with  Western Union Foundation and UNDP on financing the  “E-schools” project.

• 26 August 2006 – Union Bank offer  Western Union service on all branches.

• The service network has more than 190 Agent Locations
  

• August - On occasion of the new school year, Financial Union Tirana organized the promotional campaign “Back to School”, distributing school gifts in all Albanian cities. The campaign target was Western Union customers making money transfers with Italy, Greece, UK.

• October - The project of setting up computer labs in 5 public schools in Tirana, Durres, Elbasan, Vlore and Shkoder was successfully completed. This project was realised from Western Union Foundation, Financial Union Tirana and UNDP Albania.

• Western Union continued the agreement with Albanian Football Federation, as the Official Sponsor of the Albanian National Football Team.
